Pickup Strikes Stump East of McCleary

A pickup truck struck a tree on State Route 108 Wednesday night. The State Patrol says the 1987 Toyota pickup was westbound about 10 PM. At milepost 7, six miles east of McCleary, the truck left the roadway to the left, crossed the eastbound lane and stuck a stump on the eastbound shoulder.

A passenger in the Toyota, Baily Marie Stanley, 20 of Shelton, was injured and transported to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.

The driver, Colton Makinnen Edmiston, 21 of McCleary, was not injured but transported to MGH as a precaution.

The Trooper’s report indicates that drugs or alcohol may have contributed to this crash but the investigation in ongoing.
