For now, the City of Shelton is moving from an in-house City Attorney to an outside firm. The following is a news release from the City:
LEGAL SERVICES MODEL AND TRANSITION
Following discussions in which City Attorney Kristin French presented thoughts and input regarding the City’s legal services model, the City accepted Kristin’s notice that she will transition out of her role as City Attorney effective at the end of this month.
“I appreciate the opportunity to work in this capacity,” said Kristin. “The work was engaging and challenging. I had the opportunity to observe first-hand the significant and increasing service and regulatory demands facing the City. I am encouraged by the composition of the new Council, and appreciated having a part in that monumental transition.”
Legal services will be provided on an interim basis by Porter Foster Rorick, LLP, a specialty law firm based in Seattle, WA, until the City is able to fully address current budget issues and frame up a comprehensive system for legal support.
