Crews are currently working on several infrastructure improvement projects in Shelton that will impact traffic around the City. This construction includes the Basin 3 Sewer Rehabilitation Project, Downtown Connector Project, and upgrades to the Cascade Natural Gas system. As a reminder, there are several temporary traffic revisions and lane closures currently in effect in the downtown area. Here are where crews are working during the week of June 4th to June 8th:
Basin 3 Sewer Rehabilitation Project: Starting Monday, the side streets between Birch St. and Alder St., from 3rd to 7th, will be closed intermittently for work in the alleys. Lateral crews will be in the alley between 5th St. to 8th St., between Pine and Alder; this will result in periodic road closures on 5th to 7th to allow for construction truck movement.
Downtown Connector Project: Starting Tuesday, Alder/Olympic Highway North will be limited to two lanes of traffic, one lane each direction. Monday through Wednesday, Alder will be closed from 2nd St. to 5th St. There will be intermittent one-way traffic from 7th to ‘C’ St. while the jersey barriers are being moved. Wednesday, 3rd St. will be closed between Alder and Pine. There will be intermittent one-lane traffic control throughout the week on Alder from 2nd St. to 7th St.
Cascade Natural Gas: Lane closure at 7th and Franklin, one lane of travel. Road closure on Franklin, west of 12th St.
For your safety, please stay alert, watch for lane/channelization changes, and obey all construction signs and flagging personal.
