Oakland Bay Day Sunday

Join Capitol Land Trust, Mason County Public Health, Taylor Shellfish, The Salmon Center/Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group, Center for Natural Lands Management, Puget Sound Estuarium, Olympic Middle School, and CHOICE High School Sunday for Oakland Bay Day. The event is a free, fun, family-friendly celebration of the natural and cultural resources of Oakland Bay and the surrounding watershed.  Visit with local resource agencies, community groups, and nonprofits for more information and tips to protect and enjoy Oakland Bay and local wildlife.

The Oakland Bay Day event runs 11 AM to 3 PM Sunday at the Bayshore Preserve (3800 WA-3 N, Shelton – across Highway 3 from the Bayshore Texaco, near the intersection with Johns Prairie Road.)

Activities will include:

  • Prairie Restoration Tour 11:30 AM & 2 PM
  • Restoration Tour of Bayshore Preserve 12:30 PM
  • Shellfish Safety Q&A 1 PM
  • Trivia Scavenger Hunt
  • Shellfish Snack (courtesy of Taylor Shellfish)
  • Live Music (11 AM – 12:30 PM)
