Shelton School District’s Most Inspiring Students

[VIDEO] For the third year, the Shelton School District recognized 35 students for succeeding in school despite various challenges in their lives and in the process, inspired others. Each of the District’s seven schools selected a student for each grade to be recognized at a dinner Thursday night.

Superintendent Dr. Alex Apostle kicked off the ceremony by describing the strength he sees in students, staff and the community.

The guest speaker during the event was Brigadier General Kathy Roberts. Roberts served 32 years in the U.S. Air Force, graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors Degree in Physics, and earned her Masters of Science in Space Technology from John Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab. During her Air Force career, Roberts was assigned to a mission on the space shuttle and retired as the Director of Signals Intelligence System Acquisition for the National Reconnaissance Office.

Then the students were recognized.
