Thursday, the fourth day of candidate filing week, saw another Republican entered the race for 35th District State Senator. There are now five running for Mason County District Court Judge. And a Democrat was the first to file for Mason County Auditor.
John (Wes) Martin is the second Republican to challenge incumbent Democrat Tim Sheldon for 35th Legistative District State Senator. The other Republican is Marco Brown. With Democrat Irene Bowling, that makes four peole vying for the seat.
Meanwhile, no one has yet to challenge incumbent Republians Dan Griffey or Drew MacEwen for their 35th District State Representative seats.
George A. Steele is the latest person to file for Mason County District Court Judge bringing the number of candidates for that seat to five. Steele joins Eric Valley, Eugene C. Austin, John R. Bonin and Stephen D. Greer in the race for the seat currently held by Victoria Meadows.
Paddy McGuire filed for Mason County Auditor. The Democrat was the first to file for the seat currently held by Karen Herr who is not seeking re-election.
There are now 20 candidates who have filed for U.S. Senator. The latest to file are Republican Glen R. Stockwell, Alex Tsimerman from the StandupAmerica Party, and from the Green Party, James Robert “Jimmie” Deal. Incumbent Democrat Maria Cantwell has yet to file.
Candidate filing ends at the close of business today, Friday, May 18th.
