Shelton Softball Falls in SSC Tourney

The Shelton fast pitch softball team lost to North Thurston 10 to 1 Thursday in the first round of the South Sound Conference Tournament at the RAC (Regional Athletic Complex) in Lacey. The Rams held the Lady Highclimbers three hits and Shelton only had six base runners.

Alyssa Jorgensen led the ‘Climbers in the loss going 1 for 2 at the plate with an RBI double in the sixth inning. Taya Gouley and Angelea Wirstrom both were 1 for 2.

Shelton plays Central Kitsap Friday at 1 PM. The winner of that game will take the number five seed into the West Central / Southwest District Tournament next week. The loser would be the number six team from the SSC.
