SHS Track Results, Softball Shut Out
At the South Sound Froshowcase Wednesday, the Shelton girls’ track and field team finished 2nd in the team scoring while the Highclimber boys were 5th.
Top Shelton Freshman:
Victoria Silverman won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles.
Jazlind Warren took the girls’ shot put.
Kyle McGregor won the boys’ shot put and discus.
Ivory Alexander took the boys’ pole vault.
The relay team of Victoria Silverman, Kathy Shumate, Emma Miller and Kamdan Nicklaus won the girls’ 4 x 100.
The relay team of Aiden Gregg, Victoria Silverman, Emma Miller and Kamdan Nicklaus took the girls’ 4 x 400.
Aiden Gregg took 2nd in the girls’ 1600 meters.
Sebastian Engels placed 3rd in the boys’ shot put and the discus.
Kamdan Nicklaus was 3rd in the girls’ high jump.
Friday, the Shelton track teams will participate in the 54th Shaner Invitational at Tumwater District Stadium.
The Shelton fast pitch softball team was shut out at South Sound Conference leading Yelm Wedensday 7 to 0. The Lady Highclimbers drop to 8-and-10 on the season, 4-and-8 in the SSC. The ‘Climbers are currently 5th in the standings, a half game ahead of Central Kitsap with two games remaining in the regular season. Friday, Shelton hosts Timberline. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will broadcast the game between the Highclimbers and Blazers. First pitch is 4 PM. It is Shelton’s final home game of the season so the ‘Climbers’ seniors will be recognized before the game.
