The Mason County Sheriff’s Office took a 60-year-old man into custody Friday after a three-hour standoff in north Shelton. Limited information has been released on the incident that started about 3:30 PM.
Initial reports says deputies, Shelton Police and SWAT responded to the 1700 block of Shelton Springs Road after the man attempted to stab the civil process server. The suspect then barricaded himself in a mobile home.
The Sheriff’s Office Twitter page says the man was arrested after “using 3 hours of tactical deescalation with him.” And a K9 and gas where used to take the suspect into custody. The man was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
