Property Taxes Due Monday

Mason County Treasurer, Lisa Frazier, would like to remind the taxpayers that 1st half property tax payments for the year 2018 are due, Monday, April 30th 2018. To pay in person, come to the Treasurer’s office on the second floor of Mason County Building 1, 411 North 5th Street in Shelton between 9 AM and 4 PM or use the payment drop box outside the main doors of Building 1. The drop box will remain open until 8 AM on Tuesday, May 1st.

If mailing in your payments, they must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2018 to be considered on time and avoid interest charges. Please be sure to check with your local post office for collection hours. Due to recent postal changes, postmarks and delivery can be delayed. Delinquent interest will be charged on May 1st at one percent per month. An additional penalty of 3 percent is assessed on the total amount of tax delinquent on June 1st and additional 8 percent is assessed on the total amount of tax delinquent on December 1st of the year in which the tax is due.

The Treasurer’s office offers credit/debit card payment services at the counter, online and by phone through Point N Pay. The office accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. Property Tax information is available online at . There is a fee associated with the use of debit and credit cards for the payment of property taxes (pursuant to RCW 36.29.190).

Please note that due to budget cuts, office hours are 9 AM to 4 PM and the Treasurer’s Office is not able to extend office hours during tax time.
