Lori Brady, immediate past president of the Mason County Association of REALTORS® (MCAR) and a broker with RE/MAX Top Executives in Shelton, was honored by Washington REALTORS® with their annual Community Service award on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at an award ceremony during the state organization’s Spring Business Conference in SeaTac, Wash.
This year’s Community Service award-one of several awards presented at the event-was in recognition of Brady’s work with Shelton schools to create “Angels and Cherubs”, a program where a REALTOR® or an affiliate association member can ‘adopt’ a local school-age child for one year-with parent approval-to help with supplies and clothes for school. The children helped are often homeless and remain anonymous to their contributors. Only the size, age and gender of a child is revealed to the REALTOR® or affiliate member.
“This program was greeted with such an immediate, positive response by our members,” said MCAR President Kim Delany. “We held an auction late last year and raised $7500 to fund the program. The children have written us such heartfelt notes. We are so proud that Lori Brady received this statewide honor. It is a win-win idea that embodies REALTORS®’ care for the well-being of our community.”
Brady has been a REALTOR® for nearly 30 years. She served as the MCAR president twice, once in 2005 and again in 2017 and was named MCAR REALTOR® of the year in 1994 and 2008. She was also the vice-president of Association Operations in 2012 for the Washington REALTORS®, the statewide organization of more than 20,000 members and affiliates.
The Mason County Association of REALTORS®* is organized for the benefit of the business interests of its membership, to promote and preserve private property rights, and to uphold the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. REALTORS® are the leading advocates for hundreds of area home buyers and sellers each year and current homeowners throughout the County.
