State Highway Road Construction 4/22 to 4/28

The following is a summary of road construction and maintenance scheduled on state highways around Mason County and adjoining areas from April 22, 2018 to April 28, 2018.

Highway: 302 Region: Olympic County: Pierce Location: Milepost(s) 15.6
Description: Crews will close the State Route 302 bridge over the Purdy Spit for asphalt testing. A signed detour route will be in place.
Schedule: 10 p.m. Thursday, April 26 to 4 a.m. Friday, April 27.

Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 274.6 to 281
Description: Drivers will encounter single lane and shoulder closures for sign washing.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26.

Highway: US 101 Region: Olympic County: Jefferson Location: Milepost(s) 155 to 184.6
Description: Vegetation management. Equipment will pull off highway to allow traffic to pass if needed.
Work Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 23 through Tuesday, April 24.

Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 0 to 20
Description: Single eastbound lane closure for vegetation management.
Work Schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26.


SR 8 – Middle and East Forks Wildcat Creek – Remove Fish Barriers
Highway: SR 8 Region: Olympic County: Grays Harbor Location: Milepost(s) 4.3 to 7.5
Description: The eastbound lanes have been reconfigured to accommodate both directions of traffic as crews replace outdated culverts under SR 8 to improve fish passage for Middle and East Fork Wildcat Creek.
Work Schedule: Around the clock traffic shift. Any closures will be announced. Work is scheduled through spring 2019.
