SHS Softball & Tennis Win, Soccer loses; NM Baseball & Softball Win, Track Split, Tennis Falls
The Shelton fast pitch softball team slipped by Timberline Thursday 6 to 5 in eight innings. With Trisha (last name not available) at second base in the extra inning and two out, Taya Gouley reached first on an error and Trisha scored the winning run for the Lady Highclimbers. Alyssa Jorgensen led Shelton going 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and two RBI. Erica Ayala was 3 for 5 with a triple and an RBI. Hallie Stotts went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Alexandra Walters got the win, pitching eight innings giving up five runs on five hits but striking out 12 and walking four. The ‘Climbers improved to 6-and-7 on the season, 3-and-5 in the South Sound Conference. Shelton host Capital Monday.
The Shelton girls’ tennis team won at Central Kitsap Thursday 5 to 0. The Lady Highclimbers host North Thurston Tuesday.
The Shelton boys’ soccer team lost at North Thurston 2 to 1 Thursday. The Highclimbers drop to 4-7-and-2 on the season, 4-6-and-1 in the South Sound Conference. They host Gig Harbor Tuesday. The Tides shut out Shelton in their first meeting on March 15th.
The North Mason fast pitch softball team clobbered Bremerton Thursday 16 to 3 to pick up their first Olympic League win. The Lady Bulldogs pounded out 16 hits with Jordin Sullivan going 3 for 3 at the plate with three RBI and scoring three runs. Natalie Mathews was 2 for 3 with two RBi and two runs scored. Taylor Hendrickson went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Corlis Newman was 2 for 5 and batted in two runs. Amerbe Johnson was 2 for 4 with a triple, an RBI and scored three runs.Rebekah Fredrickson was 2 for 5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Skylar Drumm and Chloe Lewis each batted in a run. The girls from Belfair improved to 3-and-9 on the season, 1-and-4 in League play. They host Olympic Monday.
In track, the North Mason boys’ beat Port Angeles 86 to 82 and knocked off Klahowya 101 to 74. The Lady Bulldogs lost to the Roughriders 122 to 59 and fell to the Eagles 94 to 69.
The North Mason girls’ golf team lost to Bremerton Thursday 238 to 234. The Lady Bulldogs host Olympic Wednesday.

James Burch took the boys’ 110-meter hurdles.

Isabella Porter finished 2nd in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles and 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles.
Felicity Fowler took 2nd in the girls’ javelin.
Grady Durbin placed 2nd in the boys’ shot put and 3nd in the discus.
Daniel Hornbuckle was 2nd in the boys’ high jump.
The girls’ relay team of Kira Schwerzler, Olivia Kauahi, Sierra Morin and Michelle Swearingen took 2nd in the 4 x 200.
The girls’ relay team of Sierra Morin, Morgan Shumaker, Isabella Porter and Savannah Knutson was 2nd in the 4 x 400.
Braeden Kemmer finished 3rd in the boys’ 200 meters.
Morgan Shumaker placed 3rd in the girls’ 400 meters.
Nicholas Grabicki was 3rd in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles.
Miller Campbell took 3rd in the boys’ javelin.
