Two existing officers will be paid overtime to cover other schools in Shelton schools in addition to the officer currently covering Shelton High School and Oakland Bay Junior High. One of the overtime officers’ beat will be Olympic Middle School and Mt. View Elementary. The other will cover CHOICE, Evergreen and Bordeaux. The agreement covers April to June 2018 and has the School District reimbursing the cost of overtime.
City Commission approval is set for their May 1st meeting.
A second SRO Agreement will be presented to the City Council in June for consideration of adding two additional SROs (one SRO currently) over two years from July, 2018 – June, 2020. The costs of the second agreement are expected to be split between the District (80%) and the City (20%), subject to School Board approval in May and City Council approval in June.
