SHS Softball & Golf Win, Soccer Ties, Baseball Loses; NM Golf Wins, Soccer & Tennis Fall
The Shelton fast pitch softball team pounded out 15 hits in a 14 to 4 win at Capital Tuesday. Maleah Walsh led the Lady Highclimbers going 4 for 5 at the plate, with a double, three RBI and scored two runs. Alyssa Jorgensen was 3 for 5, with a double and three RBI. Erica Ayala went 3 for 4, scored two runs, and batted in a run. Alexandra Walters got the win, pitching seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out 11 and walking two. Shelton improved to 5-and-7 on the season, 2-and-4 in the South Sound Conference. The ‘Climbers travel to Timberline Thursday.
The Shelton boys’ golf team beat Central Kitsap 108 to 60. The Highclimbers’ Ethan Pentony led the way by shooting five over par 77 at Alderbrook Golf Course. Shelton hosts the Sibley Scramble next Monday.
The Shelton boys’ soccer team played Central Kitsap to a 2-2 tie Tuesday. The Highclimbers are now 4-6-and-1 on the season, 4-and-5 in the South Sound Conference. They play at North Thurston Thursday.
The Shelton baseball team only managed two hits Tuesday in a 5 to 0 loss at Central Kitsap. Ty Smotherman and Max Falcon Johnson accounted for those hits as the Highclimbers dropped to 10-and-4 on the season, 4-and-4 in the South Sound Conference. The teams play again Wednesday, this time at Shelton.
The North Mason boys’ soccer team was shutout by Sequim Tuesday four-nil (4 to 0). The Bulldogs are now 2-7-and-2 on the season, 2-and-7 in the Olympic League. The boys from Belfair travel to Chimacum Friday.
The North Mason girls’ tennis team lost to Sequim Tuesday 7 to 0. The Lady Bulldogs host Klahowya Wednesday.
