Shelton Woman Injured After Chase in Lacey

A 28-year-old Shelton woman was injured after a chase in Lacey Tuesday night ended in a crash. The State Patrol says troopers attempted to stop a 1989 Yamaha FZR-600 motorcycle for expired registration as it exited from Southbound Interstate 5 to Marvin Road in Lacey about 11:45 PM. The motorcycle, with two people on it, fled, running a stop light as it turned onto Marvin Road. Troopers pursued with Thurston County deputies but terminated the chase as they approached Mullen Road. The motorcycle then collided with a barrier in the 6200 block of Mullen Road Southeast. The westbound lanes of Mullen Road were blocked for two hours, 45 minutes.

The driver of the Yamaha, a 37-year-old Port Orchard man, fled on foot but the passenger was injured, taken into custody and transported to St. Peter Hospital. A K9 pursued the driver to a nearby elementary school where he was apprehended.

The investigation continues but the driver, identified as Beau E. Nugent, faces felony eluding charges.

The State Patrol identified the passenger as Allison J. Scott. No information on the extent of her injuries or whether she faces charges.
