TIP-CAP Starts Community Out Reach

The Mason County Transportation Improvement Program – Citizens Advisory Panel (TIP-CAP) started a community out reach process Monday night in Belfair. TIP-CAP is gathering public input on county projects, safety issues and general transportation needs in Mason County. Members Phil Wolff, Jack Johnson and Jeff Carey led the discussion before the North Mason Community Voice with Wolff narrating a power point presentation and Johnson and Carey leading the public discussion.

Some to the things brought up during the forum included Razor Road, Trail Road, connections to the Belfair Bypass, the four-way stop at Clifton Road/Highway 300/North Shore Road/Old Belfair Highway, traffic signals along State Route 3 through Belfair, North Shore Road and Sand Hill Road, limiting left turns at some intersections to help with traffic, and establishing levels of service for county road.

Mason Transit’s plan to construct a park-and-ride off Log Yard Road and the potential for a round-a-bout at the intersection with State Route 3 as well as the State Department of Transportation were discussed at length.

TIP-CAP will be holding additional community out reach forums in the next two months. One will be held in Hoodsport on April 25th. The third forum will be held in Shelton sometime in May.
