Empty Bowls Project Generates $1900

The Shelton Arts Commission raised $1,902.25 for The Saint’s Pantry Food Bank from donations made by participants at the 13th Annual Empty Bowls Project. Local restaurants including The Strip Steak House, Taylor Shellfish, Sisters Restaurant, Kern’s Kitchen and Smoking Mo’s and Olympic Bakery and Deli generously donated soup and bread for the event.

The Empty Bowls project is a creative effort to fight hunger where participants created ceramic bowls, building one night and glazing a week later. When the bowls were finished, participants gathered on March 21st to choose a bowl to keep in exchange for a $10.00 donation. Participants were then treated to a delicious bowl of soup and bread served by one of the six participating restaurants! ALL proceeds went to the Saint’s Pantry Food Bank!
