SHS Baseball Wins, Softball & Tennis Lose plus Track & Field results

The Shelton baseball team avenged their first loss of the season by beating North Thurston Wednesday 4 to 1 and splitting the season series. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC broadcast the game live.

The Highclimbers’ Max Johnson pitch a complete game allowing one run on seven hits and striking out three. Caeleb Hitsman, Falcon Johnson and Wade Smotherman batted in a run each. Shelton improved to 4-and-1 on the season, 1-and-1 in the South Sound Conference. They play at Lakes Friday and host North Kitsap Saturday.

The Shelton fast pitch softball team, coming off its first win ot the season Monday, lost to Peninsula 18 to 0 on Wednesday. The Lady Highclimbers are now 1-and-3 on the season, 1-and-1 in the South Sound Conference. They host Centralia Friday.

The Shelton girls’ tennis team lost at Tumwater Wednesday 4 to 2. The Lady Highclimbers host Aberdeen next Tuesday.

The Shelton boys track team beat Capital 79 to 65 but the Lady Highclimbers fell to the Cougars 83 to 56.

Top Shelton finishers:
Troy Goodwin won the boys’ 100 meters and the boys’ 200 meters.
The girls’ 100 meters went to Trinity Payment followed by Kamdan Nicklaus.
Vicotria Silverman took the girls’ 200 meters.
Josiah Salazr-Fox topped the boys’ 400 meters.
William Johnson took the boys’ 800 meters.
In the boys’ 1600 meters, Brock Knowles was first followed by John Gerchak.
The girls’ 1600 meters was won by Aiden Gregg.
The boys’ 3200 meters went to Ethank Bursch.
Victoria Silverman topped the girls’ 100-meter hurdles.
John Gerhard won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles.
Shelton’s relay team of Josiah Olels, Josiah Salazar-Fox, Malik Freeman & Troy Goodwin took the boy’s 4 x 100 while the relay team of Josiah Salazar-Fox, Ethan Bursch, Domoniq Monette & William Johnson won the boys’ 4 x 400.
Cody Hall won the boys’ javelin.
The girls’ relay team of Victoria Silverman, Kamdan Nicklaus, Austyne Cralle & Trinity Payment won the 4 x 100.
McKenzie Salazar-Fox won the girls’ shot put.
Shelton secured the top four spots in the boys’ high jump with Skyler Johnson leading the way followed by Malik Freeman, Connor Adams and Josiah Olels.
The girls’ long jump went to Kamdan Nicklaus.
The boys’ triple jump went to Tyler Younquist.
The girls’ triple jump went to Trinity Payment.

The Highclimbers will be competing in the Curtis Viking Relay Championships on Saturday.
