PUD 3 Ops Center Substantially Complete

Mason County PUD No. 3’s new Operations Center on John’s Prairie is substantially complete. Tuesday morning, Nicole Brown from OAC reported to the PUD 3 Commissioners that the utility took ownership of the facility from the general contractor on Friday, February 24 and has temporary certificate of occupancy since all buildings are substantially completed. Brown also showed the Commissioners pictures of the facility.

Furniture delivery is ongoing and the move in for PUD employees is set to begin March 12 with April 2 being the first official day of business at 2621 E. Johns Prairie Road. The operations center will be the site for the PUD 3 warehouse; field operations such as Shelton line workers; vehicle maintenance, repair and fueling; engineering, telecommunications, energy conservation, the meter shop, transformer and substation maintenance; and various administrative functions. In addition to the downtown Shelton payment center, customers will also be able to make payments, set up accounts and conduct general business at the Johns Prairie facility. A Grand Opening is planned for sometime in mid-April.
