Suspicious Device Found at Bus Stop

UPDATE 9:20 AM: The WSP Bomb Squad removed the suspicious device from the area without incident. East Wallace Kneeland Blvd has been reopened. The device will now be examined off-site to determine whether or not it is an explosive. The Shelton Police Department is investigating a suspicions device that was found at the bus stop near Wal-Mart Friday morning.

At approximately 6:30 AM, Shelton Police were dispatched to the Mason Transit Bus Stop located in the 300 block of East Wallace Kneeland Boulevard regarding a suspicious device.

Upon arrival units located a pipe looking device with wires around it. The area was cordoned off, and the Washington State Patrol bomb squad was called.

Nearby schools, Oakland Bay Junior High and Shelton High School were placed on lock down but that lock down was lifted about an hour and a half later.

There were no threats to the schools or local businesses and no injuries have been reported.
