Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on 106

A motorcyclist from Port Townsend was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 106 Tuesday afternoon. According to the State Patrol, a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle was eastbound on State Route 106 about 12:30 PM. At the intersection with Creekside Drive (milepost 13 – seven miles west of Belfair; about a mile east of Twanoh State Park), a 2008 Chrysler van, which was westbound on SR-106, turned left from in front of the Harley. The rider of the motorcycle was ejected and the both vehicles came to rest in the roadway.

The State Patrol identifies the injured motorcyclist as Jeffrey S. Hubbard, 56 of Port Townsend. He was transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.

The driver of the van, Mildred L. Kloot, 74 of Belfair, was not injured.

A WSP press memo indicates the cause of this crash was failure to yield.
