2017 was another successful year for Love INC (Love In the Name of Christ) of Mason County in mobilizing the local 26 churches and transforming the lives of 4,380 people in Mason County. With more than a net of $110,000 raised via the Annual Golf Tournament, Soup & Song plus donations to Love INC the local charity was able to dovetail that into a worth of $377,000 of services and goods. Love INC operates a Clearinghouse to verify the needs of clients and assist those with legitimate needs. Once a need is verified everyone is helped – no matter their race, religion, age or sexual preference.
“Love INC continues to serve more and more people through our churches every year,” added Linda Myers, executive director of Love INC. “Every year we continue to serve and help people move on to helping themselves.”
More than $160,356 were recorded as “In-kind giving” through Gap Ministries operated by the churches. Some of the Gap services offered include emergency firewood, household goods, furniture, medical equipment, clothing, care-packs, vehicle repair, school backpacks, personal necessities, homeless provisions, Thanksgiving Day baskets and more. More than 6,865 volunteer hours were spent in 2017 while the Clearinghouse had a total of 5,986 calls in 2017 and gave more than 3,683 referrals to churches, resources and agencies in Mason County.
Love INC is a non-profit corporation 501(c) (3) located in downtown Shelton. It is a non-profit, faith-based organization mobilizing local churches in Mason County to provide services to the homeless, those at risk, low income and socially vulnerable individuals and families. The goal is to motivate the transformation in the lives of clients in this community. Love INC of Mason County has been serving the local community for eight years.
