The Shelton and North Mason school districts reported incidents on Thursday.
According to the Shelton School District, at approximately 6pm Thursday evening officials at Shelton High School were made aware of a possible firearm in a vehicle parked on campus. Officials investigated and found a BB pistol. The item was secured and removed from campus.
North Mason School District was notified of a possible threat Thursday at Hawkins Middle School. School administrators investigated and contacted law enforcement immediately. After assessing the situation, law enforcement took a suspect into custody. According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and detectives determined there was no crime or threat and officials were able to get “appropriate assistance” for the student involved.
At no time were students or staff in danger.
