Perfect Season for Shelton Girls JV

The Shelton junior varsity girl’s basketball team went undefeated this season. The young Lady Highclimbers won their 20 games by scoring an average of nearly 54 points a game while holding their opponents to under 26 points and had an average margin of victory of 28 points. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC talked with Shelton Head Coach Aaron Leth about his program and then picked up action on the court Thursday as the JV wrapped up their perfect season.

In the season finale, the Shelton JV was led in scoring by sophomore Abigayle Zaniewski who scored 11 points. Freshman Breanna Salazar added 10. Freshman MeiPing Vernon chipped in 9. Sophomore Molly Delacruz had 7. Freshman Carlie Thompson scored 6 points. Five for junior Camryn Thomas-Lix. And freshmas Jonica Allen finished with 4. Sophomores Jayde Smith, Audrey Wright and Maleah Walsh also played against Yelm but did not score.

Coach Leth told MasonWebTV Powered by HCC that two of those JV players will be called up to varsity next week to help the Lady Highclimbers in the West Central / Southwest District Tournament. Leth would not disclose who will get the call as Shelton opens play Wednesday at Kelso. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC will be broadcasting the game between the ‘Climbers and the Highlanders.
