Shelton Students Excelling

The Shelton High School has state bound bowlers; district bound swimmers and dancers; and a top qualifying auto student.

First year Auto student, Camrin Nestell, placed second at the regional Skills USA Auto Maintenance contest in Aberdeen Last Saturday. He qualified to compete at the State Skills USA contest in Yakima in April.

The Highclimber bowling team took second place at the West Central District Tournament last Saturday. Now, Shelton’s bowling team is heading to the Class 3A State Championships at Narrows Plaza in Tacoma. State competition starts at 12:30 PM this Friday.

Shelton High School dance team took first place at the Olympia High School competition last Saturday. The team earned a score of 239 points. Keegan Leach placed in the top 6 out of 100 competitors in the drill down. The team also qualified for the District 3 competition on March 10th at Tahoma High School. Here is the team’s routine performed the night before the Olympia competition during halftime of the Shelton boys’ basketball game against Peninsula:

The Boys swim team sending swimmers to the West Central District meet Friday and Saturday at Mt. Tahoma High School. Competing for the Climbers are: Sam Womer, Tyler Youngquist, Caleb Matheny, Michael Olson, Austin Karr, Sam Morson, Wyatt Pratt, Nate Ostheller, Kai Tavares, Scion Matheny and Brett Miller.
