A 52-year-old Bremerton man died Tuesday evening after collapsing and being struck by a car on Highway 3 about three miles south of Bremerton. The State Patrol says the man, Leroy A. Hunter, was standing in the roadway after being involved in a two-car non-injury collision about 5:15 PM. A press memo explains that Hunter collapsed for unknown reasons and was struck by a southbound 2014 Chrysler 300. Hunter was pronounced deceased at the scene near Division Avenue. State Route 3 was blocked for nearly two and a half hours.
The driver of the 300, Carolyn J. Young, 65 of Allyn, was not injured.
Troopers are still investigating but no charges are expected.
