Wins for MMK Basketball; NM Basketball Teams Fall; SHS Swim & Bowling Fall
The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team held Wishkah scoreless in the first quarter and flew to a 70 to 18 win. The Owls improved to 8-and-4 on the season, 2-and-1 in the 1B Coastal League. The boys from Matlock travel to North River Friday.
Despite a two-point third quarter, the Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team held off Wishkah 35 to 32 Tuesday. The Owls’ Kaylee Sowle scored 25 points, grabbed 21 rebounds (14 offensive), and had 5 blocks to lead the way.
Jadyn Davidson finished with 8 points and 17 boards. The MMK girls are now 8-and-4 on the season, 2-and-1 in the 1B Coastal League, tied with Oakville for second place. The girls from Matlock travel to North River Friday.
The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost to Port Angeles Tuesday 57 to 29. The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-and-7 on the season, 1-and-5 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair travel to Bremerton Friday.
The North Mason boys’ basketball team lost at Port Angeles Tuesday 84 to 32. The Bulldogs drop to 4-and-8 on the season, 1-and-5 in the Olympic League. The boys from Belfair host Klahowya today (Wednesday, January 10, 2018) – a team they beat 62 to 42 to open the season.
The Shelton girls’ bowling team lost to Capital Tuesday 4 to 1. The Lady Highclimbers have lost their last three matches and have dropped to 12-and-4 on the season, 9-and-3 in the South Sound Conference. Shelton is in second place in the standings. They take on North Thurston Thursday at Aztec Lanes in Olympia and wrap up the regular season Tuesday at Westside Lanes against Central Kitsap.
