The Shelton boys’ basketball team used a big second quarter to beat North Mason in Belfair Wednesday night, 62 to 37. MasonWebTV Powered by HCC broadcast the game live as the Highclimbers held the Bulldogs to four points in the quarter while scoring 27.
Shelton’s Tyler Auld lead all scorers with 13 points, hitting three three-pointers and scoring all his points in the second quarter. Zach Jonker added 12 points, six in the second. Malik Freeman, Ty Thompson and Noah Benson had 8 points each. Travis Colbenson chipped in 5. And Caeleb Hitsman and Casey Badillo-Brown scored 4 points each.
North Mason was led in the loss by Austin Knight’s 8 points. Trey Fisher added 6. Ryan Pearson and Troy McCormick each chipped in 5. Jha’mal Johnson scored 4. Miller Campbell hit a three. Austin Williams and Trevor Brown each hit a basket. And Justin Wood made two free throws.
The Highclimbers improved to 4-and-5 on the season. The Bulldogs dropped to 3-and-5. Shelton is off until December 28th when they play River Ridge at North Thurston High School. North Mason travels to Centralia Friday.
