The Shelton girls’ basketball team dominated North Mason Tuesday 76 to 39. The game was broadcast by MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Lady Highclimbers opened the game on a 9-0 run and led by as many as 18 in the first quarter. That lead increased to 25 in the second, 30 in the third, and 40 in the fourth triggering a running clock. As a team, Shelton hit ten three-pointers – four in the first quarter.
Five ‘Climbers scored in double digits: Timber Ware (hit four three-pointers) and Kylind Powell (had two threes) each scored 14. Jasmine Griffin added 13 – making three three-pointers. And Katie Johnson (two threes) and Kayla Gairns had 11 each. Other Shelton players to score: Lexi Moon with and Taya Gouley with 5. Jordyn Peterson played but didn’t score.
North Mason was led in the loss by Amber Johnson’s 14 points. Sophia Green added 7. Natalie Mathews and Kirstin Griffey each chipped in 6. Five for Grace Abad. A basket for Natalie Carstensen. And a free throw for Natalie Young.
The Lady Highclimbers improved to 6-and-2 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 4-and-5. Both teams are off until December 28th when Shelton hosts Olympic in a game that will be broadcast by MasonWebTV Powered by HCC and North Mason travels to Aberdeen.
The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team knocked off Naselle 38 to 33 Tuesday. The Owls improved to 6-and-4 on the season. The girls from Matlock are off until January 5, 2018 when they travel to Lake Quinault.
