Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., Shelton Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Wallace Kneeland Boulevard regarding a car-jacking. MACECOM (911) was advised that a female suspect had attacked a man and stole his truck.
The suspect drove the stolen vehicle for about a block and then abandoned the vehicle on Wallace Kneeland Boulevard. The suspect then jumped the fence into the field at Oakland Bay Junior High where she began stripping off all her clothes. The suspect was finally located on Shelton Springs Road near Shelton High School where she was taken into custody without incident.
Oakland Bay Junior High and Shelton High School were both placed on lock-down during the pursuit.
The female suspect was identified as a 31-year-old resident of the Skokomish Nation. She was evaluated at Mason General Hospital and booked into the Mason County Jail on robbery charges. Her identity is being withheld at this time pending formal charges by the Mason County Prosecutor. Her motive is currently unknown. She has refused to answer any questions or speak with investigators.
