NM Sweeps Crosspoint; MMK Split Games with Clallam Bay

The North Mason basketball teams beat Crosspoint Saturday in a double header broadcast by MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The boys game went to overtime as the Bulldogs won their eighth straight over the Warriors 59 to 52.

Trey Fisher led North Mason with 15 points, hitting six of six free throws – four in overtime. Troy McCormick added 13 points, hitting three three-points – one in OT. Ryan Pearson added 12 points. And Jha’mal Johnson chipped in 10 point – five in overtime.

The boys from Belfair are 2-and-3 on the season. They return to Olympic League play Tuesday at Bremerton.

The Lady Bulldogs evened their series with the Warriors at three game each beating Crosspoint 57 to 29.

North Mason built a nine-point lead in the first quarter which the Lady Warriors closed to one at the end of the first eight minutes bur he Bulldogs pulled away in the second quarter, holding Crosspoint to four points while scoring 16. The Warriors didn’t get any closer and committed 23 turnoers.

Hailey Simonson led girls from Belfair with 23 points. Amber Johnson added 10 points. and Grace Abad finished with 8. North Mason is 3-and-2 on the season. They host Bremerton Tuesday.

The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team¬†held Clallam Bay to single-digit scoring in each quarter and the Owls beat the Bruins 49 to 24 Saturday. The boys from Matlock jumped out to a 21 to 4 first quarter lead. That lead ballooned to 31 to 10 at the half and MMK was up 30 in the third. Reese Tottie was the Owls’ top scorer finishing with 12 points. Eddy Krippelcz grabbed seven rebounds and had six steals. The Mary M. Knight boys are 4-and-2 on the season. The Owls travel to Three Rivers Christian Tuesday.

The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team lost to Clallam Bay 61 to 41. The Lady Owls have dropped their last two game and are 3-and-3 on the season. The girls from Matlock travel to Three Rivers Christian Tuesday.
