Open enrollment for Washington HealthPlanFinder runs November 1 through January 15, so if you are still without health insurance you can sign up now at Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics. There will also be enrollment workshops held on two Saturdays before the cut-off date ? January 6 or January 13, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ellinor Meeting Room at Mason General Hospital. The workshops are free and open to anyone in the community who needs new or updated health care coverage or information in order to sign-up.
The Washington HealthPlanFinder is part of the Affordable Care Act and still in effect for individuals and families in Washington state. You can view and compare the various health plans available and get registered online at www.masongeneral.com. For those who qualify, Washington HealthPlanFinder offers financial help such as premium tax credits, reduced-cost sharing, and Medicaid. To ensure that everyone in the community is well covered and that no one will be subject to a fine on their taxes for being without a medical plan, MGH&FC offers enrollment assistance. Their enrollment workshops are a community outreach set up to answer questions about Washington HealthPlanFinder and to assist people in getting signed up for an insurance plan before the deadline.
For more information on the workshops or how to sign up Monday through Friday, call MGH&FC Project Supervisor Susana Lopez at (360) 432-7766.
