Sex Offender Arrested for Child Molestation

Detectives from the Shelton Police Department have arrested a 63-year-old Olympia man for Child Molestation 1st degree and Incest Domestic Violence.

The alleged incident(s) occurred in the City of Shelton within the past 10-years. Police were alerted to the offense in early June of 2017 when the victim disclosed what had occurred. The department then launched an official criminal investigation. 

The alleged suspect is already a registered sex offender and is currently on active WA State Department of Corrections Community Supervision stemming from a conviction in 1991 for Child Molestation 2nd Degree and Failing to register as a Sex Offender.  When arrested by police, the man provided investigators with intimate details of the crime(s) and conceded to the offenses he is accused of.  He has been booked into the Mason County Jail for processing.

The Police Department is withholding the name of the suspect pending formal charges being filed by the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.
