Authorities Asking for Help Locating Missing Woman

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing Bremerton woman whose truck was found in Mason County.

According to Bremerton Police, 83-year-old Carol Ferguson was last spoken to on September 26, 2017, when she cancelled plans with a friend. Neighbors have not seen signs of Ferguson or her vehicle, a red Ford Ranger, since approximately the same time period. Ferguson’s known family members have not had contact with her and she is known to keep to herself. Ferguson is an avid hiker and frequently hikes in the Olympic National Park area. There are indications that suggest Ferguson’s disappearance may be dementia-related.

Ferguson’s truck was found near the Putvin Trail in the Lena Lake area this week and search and rescue crews from Mason, Jefferson, Kitsap and Grays Harbor counties and Olympic Mountain Rescue have been searching the area.

Authorities are now asking for the assistance of anyone hiking, hunting or scouting in the area. If you have any information or locate Carol Ferguson, you are asked to contact dispatch at 360-426-4441.
