Two people were arrested Wednesday after a high speed chase, crash and foot pursuit. The chase began about 10:30 AM on U.S. Highway 101 when a State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a car for speeding and passing on the shoulder. The driver of the car, a silver Lexus, fled, reaching speeds of 120 MPH before pulling onto Highway 108.
On SR-108, the car tried to pass three vehicles in a no passing zone. Two of those vehicles crashed. The fleeing Lexus was found parked off the highway a short time later.
A Mason County Sheriff’s Office K-9 was called in to search the area. That K-9 unit located a man and a woman, who were arrested without further incident.
The Lexus was stolen and deputies found drugs and fake identification in the car.
