Shelton Police Warning about Counterfeit Currency

The Shelton Police Department is warning businesses about counterfeit currency. According to a news release, during the past month, the Shelton Police have received numerous complaints from several businesses regarding counterfeit $100.00 bills. Merchants are encouraged to use protective measures such as a counterfeit detector pen to ensure they are accepting legitimate U.S. currency.  If a customer is attempting to use a counterfeit bill, please contact the Shelton Police Department immediately.

  1. The pen will NOT work on the ones going around Belfair. They are using real money but washing out the amount and making them 100s.
