Meegan Crossan joined the City of Shelton on April 1, 2010 as a staff accountant, was promoted to an analyst, and is currently serving as the City’s Accounting Manager.
2016 was a year of change for the City, and Meegan has done an outstanding job of “standing in the gap” and leading the Finance Team through a rather challenging and drawn out transition in the finance director role.
One of Meegan’s most recent accomplishments was working with all of the City employee groups to facilitate the successful transition to direct deposit of payroll. This has saved time and money for employees, improved efficiencies in payroll processing, and increased the strength of internal financial controls. For her outstanding work on this project, Meegan received an award of recognition from the National Automated Clearing House Association.
In addition to demonstrating a high aptitude for absorbing new information and expanding her knowledge and skill base, Meegan has consistently demonstrated diligence, a strong work ethic, a high level of professionalism, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to keep things in finance running smoothly.
Finance Director, Nola von Neudegg stated, “Meegan is my right hand, and I am honored to present her with the Employee of the Month Award.”
