A Shelton woman was injured Thursday night when the brakes on her motorcycle failed during a ride in Grays Harbor County. A State Patrol press memo says the 66-year-old was northbound on Highway 109 about 7 PM. Near the intersection with Breckenridge Drive, four miles west of Hoquiam, she attempted to negotiate a curve when it “appears the brakes failed.” The 1995 Harley Davidson FLSTF motorcycle continued across the southbound lane and struck a guardrail on the southbound shoulder. The rider was ejected over the guardrail.
The rider of the Harley has been indentified as Kathy L. Braley who was transported to Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
The Trooper’s report indicates that “defective brakes” were the cause of the collision.
