Excessive Heat Warning, Red Flag Warning & Poor Air Quality Continue

The Excessive Heat Warning continues through Friday. A Red Flag Warning is in effect today (Thursday). And poor air quality will continue through Friday.

The Excessive Heat Warning is effective until 9 PM Friday as unusually hot weather continues. Forecasters say widespread record highs are expected again today. Highs today will be warmer than Wednesday around 100. Friday will be slightly cooler, but highs will still be in the upper 80s to mid 90s.

The Red Flag warning is effect from 2 PM to 11 PM today as temperatures increase and humidity drops creating conditions that are favorable for rapid spread of new or existing fires. Authorities ask residents to avoid any fire starts including campfires and call 9-1-1 immediately if a fire starts.

Smoke from wildfires is expected to remain over Western Washington through Friday. Air quality on average will be unhealthy for sensitive groups. People with respiratory problems should limit outdoor activity if possible.
