The Shelton School District provided the first update on its bond construction projects Thursday night. Architectural teams from NAC Architecture, Erickson McGovern and MSGS Architects presented information on where they are in the design for each school. Some of the highlights from the nearly hour and a half community forum included a three-story new addition to Shelton High School, a two-story building for the new Mt. View Elementary, and lower rate per thousand for tax payers after the bond sale in which all $65 Million was sold and the remaining 2006 bond was refunded.
All projects are scheduled to go to bid next spring with construction starting next summer or earlier. All projects are scheduled to be completed by June of 2019 and ready for the 2019-2020 school year which starts in September of 2019. The School District hopes to hold community forums to update the bond construction projects every couple of months.
