Update: Arrest Made in Allyn Shooting

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of the suspect in the shooting and hit-and-run of a homeless man north of Allyn on June 25th.

Chief Deputty Ryan Spurling told MasonWebTV Powered by HCC that the investigation stalled until Tuesday night when detectives received an anonymous call. That call led investigators to the vehicle and the suspect at a home outside of Tacoma. Detectives obtained a search warrant and found firearms in the house. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and has been booked into Mason County Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The vehicle (pictured right) and the weapons were taken as evidence.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Corrections assisted with the arrest.

No other information is available at this time as the investigation continues.

About 12 PM that Sunday last month, the victim was walking along the road, reportedly dragging a dead raccoon. The drivers of a white SUV and an older dark colored truck confronted the victim. An altercation occurred and the victim was shot in the left leg. Both vehicles then left the scene near Lake Devereaux Road where the truck reportedly running over the victim.

The driver of the white SUV was located and questioned by investigator but no charges have been filed against that individual.
