MGH Foundation Hosts 23rd Annual Golf Tournament

Mason General Hospital Foundation is partnering with CERNER and CDW Healthcare to host the 2017 Quality Care Open Golf Tournament on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Alderbrook Golf & Yacht Club, Union. All proceeds stay local and this year go towards the purchase of Zoll R Series ACLS Defibrillators in five locations at Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics – Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics, Emergency, ICU, Surgery Department, and Treadmill Room.

The day includes 18 holes of golf, outdoor dinner, live and silent auction, tee packs for each player and team photos.  Five-player teams play in scramble format, with registration at 8 a.m. and shotgun start at 10 a.m.  Over $5,000 in prizes will be awarded plus two Hole-In-One grand prizes – $10,000 cash and a new car from Gillis Auto Center. Last year MGH Foundation’s tournament raised more than $88,000 in cash and in-kind donations from the community.

“Every year we add more and more sponsors,” said Jack Stark, chairman of the event for the past 22 years. “We are so fortunate to have such generous donors who believe in our wonderful hospital and clinics.”  Rounding out the committee with Jack are MGH&FC employees and volunteers – Tom Hornburg, chief information officer; Keith Geary, plant engineer; Jeff McHargue, MGHF board member; John Cruse, executive chef; Gary Diemert, director of information technology; Karen Schade, golf committee member; Tracey Fredrick, development specialist; Holly House, event coordinator and Jennifer Capps, chief development & communication officer.
