Sara Childers, Police Records Clerk at the City of Shelton, was selected as Employee of the Month by the City’s Wellness Committee for the month of June 2017. She was recognized during Monday’s Shelton City Commission meeting.
Sara has worked with the City for over twenty years. She has become the face of the Shelton Police Department, always greeting customers and staff with a smile. She has successfully adapted to extreme changes over the last two years, including taking on more responsibilities and covering the work of two people as a result of a recent retirement within the Department. When told that she would be taking on the additional responsibilities, Sara never flinched or complained. Her positive attitude and determination has been instrumental in the development of several efficiency improvements throughout the city and the Police Department.
Sara is responsible for a variety of important tasks, including issuing the Police Department’s annual report and leading the City’s Wellness Committee. She was also a critical component in the creation of the staff gym at the Civic Center. Sara always goes above and beyond in every aspect of her job. She is an example and role model to all City employees.
