The Mason County Auditor’s Elections Department announces a Special Three Day Filing Period – June 20-22, 2017, for the offices no candidates filed for during the regular filing period. This includes Shelton School Board Director District #2, Fire District 1 Commissioner Position 1, Tahuya Water District Commissioner Position 3, and all three seats on the Cemetery District No. 1 Commission.
Candidates can file online via the website www.co.mason.wa.us/elections or in person at the Elections Department at 411 N 5th St., Shelton during business hours, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. during those three days.
All candidates that file during the special three day filing will only appear on the General Election ballot. This is true even if 3 or more candidates file. Additionally, there is no withdrawal period during a special three day filing period.
The following positions are open for the three day filing and they all have no filing fee.
Shelton School District No. 309, School Board Director District No. 2, Two-Year Unexpired Term
Cemetery District, Commissioner Position No. 1, Six-Year Short and Full Term
Cemetery District, Commissioner Position No. 2, Four-Year Unexpired Term
Cemetery District, Commissioner Position No. 3, Two-Year Unexpired Term
Fire Protection District No. 1, Commissioner Position No. 1, Six-Year Term
Tahuya River Water District, Commissioner Position No. 3, Six-Year Term
