In an effort to streamline the customer experience, the City of Shelton is reorganizing its customer service functions at the Shelton Civic Center. On June 26th, the City is planning to open a new customer service center that will house all utility billing, administrative, public works, and community development services. The construction and reorganization timeline is as follows:
- Starting May 30th, the administrative, public works, and community development customer service counter, currently located on the east side of the second floor, will be temporarily relocated to the west side of the second floor to facilitate the construction of the new customer service center.
- On June 22nd, the new customer service center located on the east side of the second floor will open and all administrative, public works, and community development services will be relocated to that location.
- On June 26th, the customer service counter on the first floor will be closed permanently, and all utility billing services will be incorporated into the new customer service center on the second floor.
These changes are part of the City’s plan to improve customer service and processing efficiencies. Processing times will be significantly improved by having all services in the same location, within close proximity to each department.
