District Track Results for SHS, NM and MMK

After the first day of the Class 3A West Central District III / Southwest District IV Track & Field Championships at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner, the Shelton boys were in 9th place while the Lady Highclimbers were 11th in the team standings.

Shelton’s Cody Simon won the men’s pole vault.
McKenzie Salazar-Fox placed 2nd in the women’s shot put (with a personal record 39 feet).
Kaitlyn Paller placed 6th in the women’s javelin (with a personal record 105 feet, 6 inches) and placed 6th in the women’s shot put.
William Johnson was 7th in the men’s 1600 meters (with a personal record 4 minutes, 29.5 seconds).

After the first day of the Class 2A West Central District III Track & Field Championships at Renton Stadium, the North Mason girls were in 18th place in the team standings.

The Bulldogs Natalie Carstensen finished 5th in the 400 meters (with a personal record 1 minute 1.3 seconds).

The Mary M. Knight track & field teams competed in the Class 1B Southwest District IV Championships Wednesday at Naselle High School. The Owl boys finished 3rd in the team standings while the girls from Matlock were 6th.

MMK’s Kaylee Sowle won four events: the women’s 100 meters, the women’s high jump (with a personal record 5 feet, 6 inches), the women’s long jump (with a season record 16 feet, 7 inches), and the women’s triple jump (with a personal record 34 feet, 5.5 inches).
Ian Frost won the men’s discuss, was 3rd in the men’s javelin (with a personal record 136 feet, 8 inches) and was 3rd in the men’s shot put (with a personal record 38 feet, 5.5 inches).
Zack Thompson won the men’s high jump, was 5th in the men’s triple jump (with a personal record 32 feet, 4.25 inches) and was 8th in the men’s javelin (with a personal record 114 feet 9 inches.)
Austin Fries won the men’s triple jump, finished 2nd in the men’s 200 meters and was 3rd in the men’s 100 meters.
The Owls’ relay team of Austin Fries, Eddy Krippelcz, Cole Ruthruff & Ian Frost placed 3rd in the men’s 4×100.
Reese Tottie placed 5th in the men’s discus (with a personal record 86 feet, 1 inch) and had a personal record 85 feet in the men’s javelin placing 15th.
Cole Ruthruff was 6th in the men’s 300-meter hurdles with a personal record 53.4 seconds.
Kaleb Riggs placed 6th in the men’s 1600 meters (with a personal record (5 minutes, 28.68 seconds) and had a personal record 81 feet in the men’s javelin placing 18th.
Eddy Krippelcz finished 7th in the men’s 400 meters (with a personal record 1 minute 1.83 seconds), was 7th in the men’s 200 meters (with a personal record 27.27 seconds) and was 9th in the 100 meters (with a personal record 13.28 seconds).

The Class 1B State Track & Field Championships are May 25th to May 27th at Eastern Washington University.
