Diabetes Support Groups’ Topic: How Can I Pay for My Meds?

Diabetes prescriptions are vital to keeping the condition well-managed and free of complications, but the expense of these medications can be overwhelming. Discover how to navigate the insurance options to help cover the high costs of diabetes medications at Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics’ next Diabetes Support Group meetings in Shelton and Allyn entitled “How Can I Pay for My Diabetes Medications?” 

Guest speaker Annette Brown, Mason County Coordinator for the Prescription Drug Assistance Network, will cover insurance formularies, Medicare gap, Social Security Administration’s Extra Help, manufacturer’s programs, and Walmart’s Relion product line. Family members, friends and significant others are also invited to attend in support of their loved ones managing diabetes.

The Shelton Diabetes Support Group meets on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Pershing Meeting Room at Mason General Hospital.  The Allyn Diabetes Support Group meets on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Port of Allyn building’s meeting room.

The Shelton Diabetes Support Group, affiliated with the American Diabetes Association, meets at MGH every third Thursday of the month from September to June. The Allyn Diabetes Support Group, affiliated with the American Diabetes Association, meets every fourth Thursday of the month from September to June. These groups are free and open to people with type 1 and 2 diabetes, their friends, and family. For more information call Debbie McGinnis, R.N., BSN, C.D.E., at (360) 275-8614 ext. 28941.
