Hoodsports Library to Celebrate Building Upgrades

The Hoodsport Timberland Library is inviting everyone to the library for the Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Saturday, May 13.

Timberland Library Director Cheryl Heywood will kick things off with a few words followed by the Friends of the Hoodsport Timberland Library recognizing Gordon Earsley, former member of the Friends and library employee who passed away recently. Mr. Earsley was instrumental in helping to relocate the library to its current home.

Improvements to the library included replacing the floor joists and carpeting, a modern new information desk, and a seated bar for patrons with portable electronic devices that faces Hood Canal. Other updates include new shelving and more eco-friendly lighting.

The Grand Re-Opening will begin at 10:30 a.m. and include a ribbon cutting with cake and refreshments. A children’s program will follow at 11 a.m. featuring Professor Bamboozle’s magic tricks and balloon creations. At 1 p.m. the library welcomes live music by Anna Robinson and Skyla Kate.

All Timberland Programs are free and open to the public. The Hoodsport Timberland Library is located at 40 N. Schoolhouse Hill Road. For more information, contact the library at (360) 877-9339 or visit www.TRL.org.
