Belfair Woman Injured in Highway 16 Crash

A Belfair woman was injured when the SUV she was driving left Highway 16 and hit a tree Thursday morning. The State Patrol reports that a 2000 Dodge Durango was eastbound on SR-16 just before 5 AM. At milepost 19, which is near the weigh station about six miles east of Port Orchard, a press memo says, “For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a tree.”

The driver, Celiece M. Bothwell, 39 of Belfair, was transported by aid car to Tacoma General Hospital.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
